picoFace for ZX Spectrum

The picoFace is a hardware device for the Sinclair ZX Spectrum. It was very much an exercise to see what can be done by interfacing a modern micro-controller with a retro 8-bit computer. The device can be used to:

• Modify ROM: Replace the internal ROM with a custom image (optionally making it writable).
• Manage Snapshots: Load and save game snapshots directly.
• Memory Manipulation: Apply Pokes to loaded games.
• Remote Control: Operate the Spectrum remotely via a PC or smartphone, including the ability to transfer snapshots and memory blocks between devices.

Note: The PicoMenu project has since developed an alternative firmware for the same hardware, offering enhanced features and a polished user experience.
